Osaka is one of the most popular cities for tourists even though Osaka is smaller than Tokyo. Over 9.4 million foreign tourists visited Osaka in 2016 which is the largest number ever. In Osaka, you may find number of delicious restaurants and street foods to visit. In addition, there have a lot of goodies that you can purchase as a souvenir from Dotobori to Shinsaibashi. For me, I like to find some special sweets or snacks as a souvenir. Today, I would like to recommend some sweets or snacks that you can find it only in Osaka, Japan.
1. Madame Shinko Brulee / Baumkuchen
Osaka has a lot of famous sweets, I would like to say that Madame Shinko Brulee is the best sweet in Osaka. This Brulee is a German style spit cake seeped in maple syrup and sprinkled with French imported brown sugar and it is covered in caramel. The great texture and the gentle sweetness of the savory caramel will fill your mouth. It is very fun way to eat the cake is to freeze it. It becomes crunchy when you taste it. If you like chocolate and matcha flavors, you should try it because both flavors are available at the store. Honestly, I like original flavor and this flavor is the best seller at the store as well.

The store located 1-minute walk from exit 11 of Namba station of subway Midosuji and Sennichimae line. Many tourists and local people buy the bun as a souvenirs back to their country. Hokkaido has famous souvenir called Shiroi Koibito and Osaka has similar packaging souvenir called Osaka Omoshiroi Koibito. Both of the cookies are different. Hokkaido’s Shiroi Koibito is small square cookie while Omoshiroi Koibiti is large round cookie. Omoshiroi means funny while Koibito means lover in English. This Omoshiroi Koibito is a thin cookie with white chocolate filling spread in the middle. It is good to eat after you freeze it. Another Osaka souvenir must be Osaka Petit Banana. The cake has extremely fluffy, soft and light with custard cream filling with bananas. The texture is so good and delicious and not too sweet for me. If you like different texture, you can freeze the custard cream which you can enjoy the cream melts in your mouth.  I like the cute packaging and perfect bite size per piece. I am highly recommend these as souvenirs for family and friends.

Many residents and tourists are highly recommended to get Kuidaore Taro Pudding as a souvenir in Osaka. Kuidaore Taro is famous mascot in Osaka and the store is located in Dotonbori. The packaging is so cute and it’s wrapped in a small box of 3 small hats with puddings. You will find the puddings after remove the hat. Add caramel crush with little chunks of candy later on top of puddings. It is easy to bring and eat. Fruit Daifuku is a famous sweet in Sakai which is southern area of Osaka. Daifuku is a traditional Japanese sweet with chewy texture. It is made by seasonal fruits and wrapped with a layer of mochi. There have a lot of seasonal fruits such as strawberry, mango, peach, orange, watermelon and other delicious fruits. When you take a bite, the chewy texture and fresh fruits melt in your mouth. Therefore, FukuFukuFu is the best souvenir for you to bring home. The sweets are look like simple wagashi, however, all the sweets are made by hand. This sweet is made by rice flour and wheat flour with quality butter, red bean paste to create a soft and fluffy texture.
